At Hotwire, the Senior Program Executive takes ownership of defined program areas, including account planning and strategic and creative thinking. The senior program executive role has more developed writing and media skills than the program executive and has developed or is beginning to develop a speciality area, owning an individual niche for agency contribution, whether it be related to a certain technology, industry or PR skill.
Team members in this position should demonstrate consistent performance and the ability to deliver their quality work on all assignments. This candidate should be self-motivated and entrepreneurial – able to take ownership and have presence. In this position, employees start to become a more strategic resource for the company by writing client PR plans and proposals, providing strategic and tactical counsel, and offering new ideas and new ways of generating success in a proactive way. The senior program executive should also manage client expectations and suggest new or alternative activities to clients so that monthly budgets are met and/or exceeded.
This person should have established media relationships and know how to craft the best story for the audience. The senior program executive should cultivate relationships across all sectors and maintain their clients’ presence with key media targets. This position also acts as a resource for junior staff members giving instruction and guidance on media and general public relations kills, while continuing to gain more insight and knowledge of all pertinent media.
The Senior Program Executive will report to a Practice Head, Program Director or Program Manager on major account activities; alerting management of any client problems or situations. As a close-knit company, we like to have fun and always look for employees that possess a positive demeanor!
- At least 1 1/2 years of experience in agency PR
- A demonstrable interest and understanding of technology
- Superb client relations and service delivery
- Taking sole ownership of specific client program areas
- Excellent ability to manage junior staff
- Excellent implementation of all assigned account tactics and projects
- Excellent, personal media contacts with relevant trade and business publications
- Proficiency in all public relations writing and editing skills
- Interest in new business efforts and identification of new business opportunities
